Wrap It Up!

On Friday my good friend (and mom to Owen) brought over my favorite lunch from Oreganos AND the fabulous Moby Wrap. The wrap is at least 3 yards of fabric and if it hadn't have come with a personalized play by play, I would still be trying to wrap it up. Jack loves being in the Moby. I think that it gave my back muscles a work out and well my stomach got one from all of the laughing. Thanks Kel for the great afternoon, I miss you!

Thank You MC!

A belated "Thank You" to MC for making a special visit to see Jack a few weeks back. He loves his new socks and has received a ton of compliments while wearing.

A Few of My Favorite Things

  1. Medela Quick Clean Micro-Steam Bags - I love being able to quickly steam bottle parts! I don't use it every time I wash but a few times a week is piece of mind.
  2. Ambajam Mini Blanket - The perfect car seat blanket! And oh so soft!
  3. Bjorn - Wasn't wanting to spend the money on this so luckily I found one at my neighborhood consignment store, LOVE CHILD, for $25 in a box. Jack loves being close and I can get stuff done.
  4. PegPerego Pram - AKA buggy/conversation starter! Responsible for my new friendship with neighborhood mom, Amanda.
  5. Side snap onesies - Any brand, any color. Good thing Jack is in the lower % for his head size because he hates anything over his head.
  6. H&M Preppy Sweater - $6.95 and perfect for this weather.
  7. Aquaphor - This has kept Jack's skin looking great, we use daily on his face and for the most part have avoided baby acne.
  8. Boudreaux's Butt Paste - Goes on much better than the other three brands we tried!
  9. Zulily - Daily deals on everything kids + moms!
  10. Circo washcloths - Cheap and smooth on skin.

Beanie & Buggy

I take Jack for a walk every day in the buggy! We usually go in the morning and I try every day unsuccessfully to get him to wear a beanie. Today was a different story, I tried this handmade beanie from crafty cousin Beka. His ears were warm and he looked cute too.

Babies make the world a better place...

Husbands become fathers. Fathers and mothers become what they were meant to be. Neighbors call more often. Men open doors. Close friends become closer. Kisses are given freely. So is the word love. Postmen wave. So do kids. God is acknowledged. Sometimes the mother is acknowledged. The baby is always acknowledged. Everyone wants to see the baby. Who wouldn't?

Things Babies Born In 2010 Won't Experience

I usually hate forwarded e-mails but this passed by my husband's inbox with the subject "It's up to Jack to keep this alive!"

A list of things that our children will never know:
  • Video Tapes
  • Travel Agents
  • Books, Magazines & Newspapers (I completely disagree with this one)
  • Movie Rental Stores
  • Paper Maps (and to think that one of my classes in Jr. High taught us how to read a map)
I guess I need to go buy Jack a BOOK of MAPS!

1 Month Old!

Jack's stats after his first Dr.'s appointment:
-Now 9lbs, up from his birth weight of 7lbs
-Grew 2 inches, now 21.5

He cried more about getting naked and on the scale than he did with the shot. I can appreciate that!

A friend suggested that we take milestone shots using the same stuffed animal to see growth. Here is a photo of Jack with his gator on the way home from the hospital:
And again one month:
He has been busy lifting weights, so maybe next time he will be holding the gator!
We can't wait to see his growth and development over the next month. He is starting to talk and smile...and as you see from the photo above, he has quite the grip. Dad is thrilled because we do rings in the left hand too and that will come in handy for golf or as Opa says basketball!
